Tasty Thursday Recipe 03/28/13
Here is a quick and easy recipe for biscuits. Give it a try this weekend!
3 1/3 cups all purpose flour
2 TBSP plus 2 tsp baking powder
1 TBSP plus 1 tsp of pure cane sugar
2/3 cup of butter
1 cup of milk
Sprinkle flour on cutting board/table/counter
Add softened butter; dough should be crumbly
Add milk and knead with hands; dough should begin to come off sides of bowl
Transfer dough onto floured cutting board/table/counter; continue to knead dough at least 12 times
Smash dough down to about two (2) inches thick
Use a biscuit cutter (if you don’t have one use the opening of a glass) pushing down into the dough creating round dough pieces and add to a non-stick baking pan (should yield at least six (6) biscuits)
Slit each biscuit a the top and place a pat of butter into each
Bake biscuits in oven at 375 degrees for 22 minutes or until golden brown.
